The Grounds and backyard of the Roseboro are not landscaped.
Gardens could be a masterpiece with the right planning and after all the construction is completed.
Fir trees line the back yard, some of them, to the right are not on the property. The commercial masonry building, included with the sale, is behind the trees to the left. |
The now tall privet hedge lined the former garden where women would play cards and Mah Jong. The 4 concrete pillars on the left were once an arbor over a "spring." The well is still there and operational. There are 4 wells on the property, but we've only found 3, all are functional. Wells are no longer necessary since the Roseboro is on village water & sewer. This section needs new roofing. Roof was restructured from within, strengthening with knee walls, sister joists and collar ties. Columns were added to house tiny bathrooms in 1930. Can be used as chases for new guestroom plumbing etc |
This is the back of the storefronts. Entire building has new foundation, sills, carrier beams and joists replaced professionally. Building has been power washed and scraped. Awaits painting after renovation of guestrooms. Dormer in center is elevator shaft. |
Another view of the backyard. |
